Snakes ludo, originally known as Moksha Patam, is an ancient Indian board game that has earned its status as a timeless classic worldwide. Rooted in India's rich gaming tradition, Snakes & ladder ludo is part of a family of dice board games. It enthralls players on a gridded gameboard featuring numbered squares. Fascinatingly, the board incorporates captivating imagery of "ladders" and "snakes" that link specific squares. Players navigate their game pieces based on the outcomes of dice rolls, aiming to move from the starting square to the top square. The strategic twists of ladders and snakes provide ample assistance or setbacks along this compelling journey.

Gameplay

The game commences with each player placing a token on the starting square, typically located at the bottom left corner (commonly marked as the "1" grid square) or off the board adjacent to the "1" grid square. Players then take turns rolling a single die to determine the number of squares their token advances. Tokens dutifully follow a fixed route outlined on the game board which often follows a boustrophedon (ox-plow) track, encompassing every square from bottom to top. Upon landing at the lower-end square of a ladder, players joyfully ascend to the corresponding higher-numbered square. Conversely, if players land on a snake's higher-numbered square (also known as chute), they descend to its lower-numbered counterpart.

If a player rolls a 6, they are entitled to an additional turn after completing their current move. Otherwise, play proceeds to the next player in line. The player who successfully traverses the game's track and reaches the final square claims victory, etching their name as the ultimate champion.
